Hi Joseph, thanks for the entertaining, fun game! I think the message behind it is important. It would be interesting to incorporate more facts or messaging throughout the game. Perhaps flying past facts or unlocking new levels which have helpful information about the effects of smoking.
Thank you for sharing a project that is both fun and helped me realize – as I kept losing the game over and over – that cigarettes are harmful towards my health. I feel like the concept of running into cigarettes (and how EASY it truly was to run into them) symbolizes how it is actually hard to avoid them in real life. I believe you could totally take this further, and build an exciting campaign around that idea! Keep building games and products that change the world.
Outstanding! This game had it all it was fun, challenging and addressed an important topic. This game was a great twist to a classic game. I could see people of all ages enjoying this game, well done!
I really liked how you provided the information about the issue before you could start playing the game. That was a great way to make sure the player is paying attention to the information and not just the fun.
Great job on the visuals; making the cigarettes become part of the landscape gives that overwhelming feeling of being suffocated by them. The game itself is very engaging!
Hey Joseph, Thanks for submitting your project to Emoti-con! Let me start off by saying that I was a big fan of Flappy Bird when it first came out. I played it more than I'd like to admit. Some of my first experiences with coding was modifying small things on something that was built out, and seeing the changes. It's a great way to get your feet wet to see how modifying something small in the code could have drastic changes in how the game works. If you're into this sort of thing, I would definitely look into modding communities - where people modify older game titles with sprite swaps, new levels, and even new game mechanics.
I like the simplicity of this game and how it brings awareness to a big issue. A suggestion i have would be to put a random fact about smoking and/or vaping on the loss screen to bring even more awareness.
