My project isn't an original idea, i remixed the project from someone else, i changed the backdrops, some images, unfortunately i could't change the character itself the original creator did something i don't understand. This game took a while to changed even though the changes weren't crazy.
I used flipgrid to talk about the game, what the goal is and how you play. I added the presentation along with the link to scratch where my game is located.
Emoti-Con 2020 has ended and leaving new reactions is now off.
Hey Kiyomi - you are absolutely right. The damage that smoking does to people, their bodies and our planet is real. I really like that you used a shooting mechanic to blow them out of the air. I love how you used classic mechanics to convey a topic as real as this. Although you do an amazing job at describing your project and the issue you want to identify, a part of me still hoped I learned a little more about some of the things we can do in order to prevent or slow down the use of cigarettes or the ways in which we can actively help our planet and our bodies. I think if you would have had a little more time, you would have added some other dope components. Good Job!
Hi Kiyomi! You documented your idea and what you hoped to achieve very clearly and the game has a great message that socially impacts the world. The game itself is entertaining and the changing of the background and items to suit what you wanted reminded me of my early html coding days! You did a great job at remixing the game and I agree with Emily when it comes to the in game instructions, play around with some visuals to see if they can convey the instructions in a simpler way. Keep on coding!
Hi, Kiyomi! I love how honest you are—your integrity and your willingness to admit what you don’t know yet will take you far no matter what you do after high school, but I'd love to see you give yourself more credit! I like that you focused on changing the design elements—do you have interest in art or graphics? Maybe you could become a front-end or UX designer! One thing I think would help make your project easier to understand is to make your instructions more visual on the game itself (right now it’s a little text-heavy) and to stay consistent in your materials. What would happen if you had different types of trash fall from the sky at different levels? I think that would be cool!
Very engaging game! it keeps the player active and on the look. You did a great job adapting the design to your idea, and using it as the underlying structure. I want to echo Sarah's comment about the pitch; when pitching an idea talk about what you did and your hopes in developing the idea further, rather than the things that you didn't/couldn't do. You have a great project!
I love the symbolism used in this game to send an important message to the player. In your pitch video for the project, try to always remain positive. The point of a pitch is to "Sell" your project. The game play works well and is easy to use. I like how you used a previous project, and expanded on it. That is how most software development is typically done. It is very rare in development to start writing code from scratch. Great projects are built off of great foundations.
