Single-use plastic is killing sea life and poisoning us. But it's easy to forget this damage and continue on with our day-to-day routine. To keep these facts on our mind, I created soap in the shape of single-use plastic-- like shopping bags, bottles, and soda rings. I used clay to make and a Mayku vacuum former to make the mold. Then I melted soap, added scents, and then poured it in!
Emoti-Con 2020 has ended and leaving new reactions is now off.
This is an incredibly unique idea. I love the concept of using soap to make a statement about single use plastic. It looks difficult to make a mold from the pictures you shared. There's a lot you can do with molds, that's a really cool skill you learned.
I like how you found something people do everyday and thought of a way to help them reflect in a new way! Using common objects is a great way to make the issue more relatable and help people reflect on how they use plastics.
What a fantastic idea, Marcell. I love how you reshaped something we use every day -- soap -- and add some awareness about serious issues. If I put this soap in my bathroom, I know it would make people laugh and think. I hope someday you open up a store on Etsy!
I love this project! A great way to make something useful out of something we throw away
this is great way to provide people with a way to wash their hand as well as informing everyone about the harmful effects of single use plastics
